These general terms and conditions of contracting apply to all matters and disputes arising from the business relationship between LINGUA FRANCA TRADUCCIONES JURADAS S.L., hereinafter referred to as the translation agency, and the client. This will be the case unless it is expressly agreed to work based on different conditions.
The client will be deemed to accept these conditions as soon as they respond to the budget prepared by LINGUA FRANCA TRADUCCIONES JURADAS S.L. by providing the requested confirmation details, which constitutes acceptance of the order.
The potential invalidity of any provision will not affect the validity of the remaining provisions.
The client's own general terms and conditions will only apply after express written acceptance by the translation agency.
Order
The order must be placed in writing or electronically and must be confirmed by phone, WhatsApp, SMS, in writing, or electronically by LINGUA FRANCA TRADUCCIONES JURADAS S.L.
The client agrees to inform LINGUA FRANCA TRADUCCIONES JURADAS S.L. no later than at the time of formalizing the order about all relevant aspects for the execution of the work, such as languages, delivery date, terminology, purpose, format, etc. If these new details change any important aspect of the order, the price may be adjusted.
If the client has not informed LINGUA FRANCA TRADUCCIONES JURADAS S.L. about any important aspect, the client will not be entitled to any compensation or discount due to deficiencies caused, for example, by the text not being suitable for the intended purpose.
Modification/Cancellation of the Order
If the client wishes to modify the order after it has been formalized, LINGUA FRANCA TRADUCCIONES JURADAS S.L. reserves the right to modify the delivery date and prices accordingly. Modifications must be confirmed in writing.
The client will only be authorized to cancel the order if the delivery date and its extension have been unjustifiably exceeded.
If the client unjustifiably cancels the order, they will be required to pay the full amount according to the agreed conditions or, if not specified, according to these general conditions. The cancellation of the order must be made in writing.
If the client is unable to fulfill their commitments due to bankruptcy, dissolution, or other reasons, they agree to immediately inform LINGUA FRANCA TRADUCCIONES JURADAS S.L. of the situation. LINGUA FRANCA TRADUCCIONES JURADAS S.L. may immediately cancel the order in whole or in part and demand immediate payment.
Prices
All prices and fees are non-binding and are expressed in euros.
Each budget provided by LINGUA FRANCA TRADUCCIONES JURADAS S.L. is individual. Prices will be calculated per document, hours, or words as applicable and indicated in the budget.
Prices may vary depending on the degree of difficulty, urgency, format, and other factors. Prices indicated include VAT unless stated otherwise.
Execution of the Order
The order will be executed according to the general principles of the translation profession.
All translations will be complete, faithful to the original, and performed with the highest possible quality. Certified translations will be stamped and signed by a sworn translator of the relevant language, duly appointed by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation. If the certified translation needs to be signed by a sworn translator appointed in another country, LINGUA FRANCA TRADUCCIONES JURADAS S.L. will inform the client of this prior to the order.
LINGUA FRANCA TRADUCCIONES JURADAS S.L. reserves the right to hire third-party services for the execution of an order at any time without the obligation to inform the client.
All contact between the client and the third party hired by LINGUA FRANCA TRADUCCIONES JURADAS S.L. must be approved by LINGUA FRANCA TRADUCCIONES JURADAS S.L. and must be communicated to them.
Delivery Deadlines
All time references correspond to Spanish peninsular time (GMT + 1) and the territory of peninsular Spain and the Balearic Islands.
Delivery deadlines for standard documents are set at 4-15 working days. Standard documents will be documents in English, German, French, Italian, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Arabic with a length not exceeding 2 A4 pages.
Delivery deadlines for documents of greater length, higher difficulty, or less commonly available languages (e.g., Urdu, Japanese, Chinese) may vary. In any case, LINGUA FRANCA TRADUCCIONES JURADAS will always specify the delivery deadline in the budget email sent to the client after evaluating the document to be translated.
LINGUA FRANCA TRADUCCIONES JURADAS S.L. will not be responsible for non-compliance with the established deadlines if, during the communication process with the client, the client does not provide the delivery address in advance or does not respond to any questions regarding their order.
Unless otherwise agreed, shipments within the peninsular territory are made using courier services (MRW, Nacex).
LINGUA FRANCA TRADUCCIONES JURADAS S.L. will not be responsible for any delay or inability to deliver if such delay or non-compliance is attributable to circumstances beyond our reasonable control (e.g., the client's absence at the address, incorrect address provided by the client, courier issues, etc.).
This provision does not affect the client's right to receive the product within a reasonable timeframe. LINGUA FRANCA TRADUCCIONES JURADAS S.L. will always strive to inform the client and provide all possible assistance to ensure the package reaches its destination as quickly as possible.
If LINGUA FRANCA TRADUCCIONES JURADAS S.L. cannot meet the delivery deadline, it will inform the client as soon as possible and agree on another delivery deadline.
Delivery will be considered to have occurred when it has been carried out demonstrably as agreed (physically or in electronic format).
Shipping Costs
Unless otherwise agreed, shipments of documents within the peninsular territory are made using courier services (MRW, Nacex). For peninsular shipments using these courier companies, LINGUA FRANCA TRADUCCIONES JURADAS S.L. will cover the shipping costs for orders within the standard shipping timeframe described in the previous section, using the 24h delivery service (MRW bag 19 or Nacex pluspack) from these couriers (delivery before 7pm the next working day after shipment). The same system and courier service (free shipping for standard service) will apply to the islands, subject to any variations in delivery times that the courier companies may establish for deliveries to the islands.
If the client expressly requests delivery at a different time than indicated above (e.g., before 2pm/12pm/10am, same-day delivery, etc.), LINGUA FRANCA TRADUCCIONES JURADAS S.L. will inform them of the possibility and shipping costs for such delivery before proceeding with the shipment and will only do so upon receiving the client's explicit confirmation.
Liability and Claims
LINGUA FRANCA TRADUCCIONES JURADAS S.L. will only be liable for damages caused by its own negligence in a direct and demonstrable manner. The liability of LINGUA FRANCA TRADUCCIONES JURADAS S.L. will be limited in any case to the amount agreed for the order and reflected in the corresponding budget.
LINGUA FRANCA TRADUCCIONES JURADAS S.L. is not liable for any damages or loss of profit, savings, or business resulting from the content or use of translations provided. This includes any indirect or consequential damages.
All complaints or claims regarding the work delivered must be submitted to LINGUA FRANCA TRADUCCIONES JURADAS S.L. in writing and within 7 days after delivery, specifying the reasons for the claim.
The maximum claim period will be 1 month from the delivery date.
For valid claims regarding the work delivered, LINGUA FRANCA TRADUCCIONES JURADAS S.L. will only be obliged to carry out corrections, modifications, or rework of the work. Rework will be carried out without additional charge.
In case of dissatisfaction with the work delivered, LINGUA FRANCA TRADUCCIONES JURADAS S.L. will offer its services to make the necessary corrections free of charge and as soon as possible.
Payment Conditions
Invoices are issued once the work is completed and delivered. Payment is due within 10 days from the invoice date.
Payment can be made by bank transfer or credit card (except for debit cards) to the account details provided on the invoice.
Late payments will be subject to a 5% surcharge for each month of delay from the due date. In the event of a delay in payment, LINGUA FRANCA TRADUCCIONES JURADAS S.L. reserves the right to suspend or refuse any further work for the client until payment is made.
In case of non-payment, LINGUA FRANCA TRADUCCIONES JURADAS S.L. reserves the right to take legal action to recover the amount due, including any additional costs incurred.
Data Protection
LINGUA FRANCA TRADUCCIONES JURADAS S.L. ensures the confidentiality of all information received and complies with the regulations established in the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Spanish Data Protection Law.
All personal data will be used exclusively for the purpose of fulfilling the contract and will not be disclosed to third parties without the client's consent, except when legally required.
The client has the right to access, rectify, and cancel their personal data, as well as to oppose its processing, by contacting LINGUA FRANCA TRADUCCIONES JURADAS S.L. in writing.
Applicable Law and Jurisdiction
These general conditions of contracting will be governed by Spanish law. Any disputes arising from the interpretation or execution of these conditions will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Madrid.
Any legal proceedings between the parties will be conducted in Madrid, regardless of the client’s address.
In compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) of April 27, 2016, we provide you with the basic information about data protection:

- Purpose: Provision of translation services and management of document legalization + info
- Legal Basis: Contract execution, legitimate interest, and consent of the data subject + info
- Recipients: No data is communicated to third parties except as required by law + info
LINGUA FRANCA TRADUCCIONES JURADAS S.L. does not hold any credit card information at any time. The data is entered directly on a secure webpage of the bank managing the payment (BBVA), thus ensuring greater security and confidentiality.
Jurisdiction
These General Conditions are governed by Spanish law. The parties submit, at their choice, to the jurisdiction of the courts and tribunals of the user's domicile, waiving any other jurisdiction.

Modifications to the General Terms and Conditions
LINGUA FRANCA TRADUCCIONES JURADAS S.L. reserves the right to modify its general terms and conditions at any time and without prior notice. It also commits to keeping the updated general terms and conditions accessible to the client through this website.
Any new version of the general terms and conditions invalidates those created on previous dates.
